Cannabis laws in Spain
Spain has a unique approach to drug policy. Drug laws only apply in public places, which means you can cultivate and enjoy marijuana in your own home. In general, it is safe to stroll around in public with a few grams of weed on you; people smoking weed in parks or in front of bars is also pretty usual. However, doing so in public is unlawful, and if you are discovered, your weed may be confiscated or you may be fined. Many Spanish cities have cannabis clubs due to legal loopholes. They are comparable to coffee shops in the Netherlands, except membership is required to enter.
